Back to Basics
Although this series takes an abstract form, its inspiration comes from the most concrete details of everyday life.
I live in Shenzhen, a large, modern subtropical city with many parks, and these everyday landscapes and life experiences have naturally become part of my inspiration: I observe the structures of buildings and the details of the landscape, transforming them into orderly lines and shapes; I sense the changes in seasons and climate, turning them into colors with different temperatures; I listen to the sounds and rhythms of traffic, crowds, and the environment, expressing their layers of rhythm through compositions of varying density.
At first, I was simply creating some patterns to explore a simple form of expression from these inspirations, but over time, it became an ongoing series—like a visual diary that I update from time to time.
