Untitled Works 2020

Since 2020, I began to change my illustration style and theme. Before this, my work was more influenced by client demands, primarily focusing on Chinese festivals, editorial and book/magazine subjects, and consumer product advertisements. Clients' style preferences leaned towards cute and cartoonish aesthetics.

During the pandemic in 2020, a change in mindset led me to re-examine my creative work. At the same time, the decrease in commission orders gave me the time to explore more personal forms of expression.

From my previous retro vibe and cartoon-like character designs, I started to shift towards a more visually modern and fashionable style. I began to create a new aesthetic for character portraits, drawing more inspiration from masterpieces, fashion, and popular imagery that I've been interested in since childhood.
